Moving large amounts of snow after a big storm can certainly pose a challenging task. Low temperatures and slick conditions can make it difficult for equipment to function properly. With
Takeuchi’s TW80-2 compact wheel loader, an operator can remove snow without worrying about the machine.
The TW80-2 features a compact design that is ideal for maneuvering in
tight spaces. A width of 205 cm (6 feet, 9 inches) means it can easily clear snow from alleys, walkways and other wide paths. When working on sensitive surfaces, you can trust that the 5,760 kg (12,700 pounds) operating weight will tread lightly.
Powering through a heavy, wet snow is no problem for the 54 kW (73 horsepower), turbocharged engine. The engine is Tier 4 compliant without the use of a diesel particulate filter. Although full of power, the fuel-efficient engine runs quietly to reduce the machine’s noise impact in urban areas.
Switching out the bucket is straightforward, thanks to the heavy-duty hydraulic bucket quick coupler. Two-speed travel ranges from 6.5 km/h (4 mph) to 20 km/h (12.4 mph), with an
optional high-speed travel package up to 40 km/h (24.8 mph).
Slippery conditions will not deter the TW80-2 from getting the job done. One hundred percent front and rear locking differentials can be engaged at low speeds for increased traction performance. The
hydrostatic drive includes a 100% inching pedal to control incremental speed and reduce brake wear.
