Dillon McKinnon - Manager, AHS Implementation
Dillon McKinnon began his career as a Heavy Equipment Operator before earning a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (B.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering and an Advanced Engineering Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Dillon has managed autonomous deployments in Alberta’s Oil Sands and British Columbia’s Elk Valley and has worked collaboratively with clients to strategically implement the Komatsu Frontrunner Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS). He successfully led his team through the first commercial deployment of the Komatsu 400 Ton 980E autonomous haul truck and the first Komatsu AHS deployment into coal and mountaintop mining. Dillon’s approach focuses on people, processes, and technology. The adoption of autonomous haulage allows for new and innovative ways or methods for mine design, which often involves challenging existing processes.
