SMS Equipment is excited to announce our expansion into British Columbia’s Southern Interior with a new location in Kelowna. Featuring a retail storefront design and vast parts inventory, the branch supports the unique needs of our growing base of construction industry customers in the region.

“Establishing a branch in Kelowna allows us to better serve our Okanagan customers that were previously working with other SMS Equipment locations in B.C. and Alberta,” says Dale Heichert, General Manager, Central Interior B.C. at SMS Equipment.

“A local presence translates to faster service, easy access to parts and lower shipping costs.”

A building boom in the region heightened demand for machines used for commercial and residential construction, as well as the parts and consumables that keep them running. In response to the local need, we created a retail storefront at the branch and placed a focus on the parts segment of our Kelowna offering. Equipment service, new and used equipment, rentals, and technology solutions are also available through the branch.

“Our storefront invites customers to stop by and pick up the parts they need, when they need them,” adds SMS Equipment’s Ryan Adams, Operations Manager, Kamloops and Area. “With sizeable inventory on site, including a broad selection of all-make parts, we can help reduce the downtime our customers need to maintain their equipment. We’ll even tailor our inventory to our customers’ fleets to ensure typical products – from GET to consumables – are always in stock.”

Along with the brick-and-mortar location, we’ve brought our construction expertise to the Okanagan. Customer service staff and Heavy Equipment Technicians at the new branch are well-versed in the unique needs of the sector, with experience selecting, modifying, maintaining and repairing equipment for the industry. Most equipment service and repairs are done at customers’ sites, adding convenience while saving freight charges.

While a thriving construction industry was the catalyst for our expansion into Kelowna, SMS Equipment’s cross-functional expertise is also an asset to the region’s mining and forestry sectors.
